Job Title: Development Engineer
We are looking for a collaborative, factual, and independent learner to join our company as a Development Engineer. The role involves the development and validation of products, systems, and components, analyzing and directing recommendations for problem resolution to meet client expectations. The engineer will work to improve the performance and efficiency of existing products, handle various phases of large projects under the guidance of a Senior Development Engineer or independently on moderate projects, and plan projects or sub-tasks for tracking and presentation.
The Development Engineer is responsible for ensuring the on-time delivery of New Product Development (NPD) projects, including detailed design, product qualification, concept development, and all related deliverables.
This is a hybrid role, requiring three days in the office. Candidates must reside within a commutable distance from Milton Keynes.
Key Responsibilities:
* New Product Development: Ensure on-time delivery of NPD deliverables, develop concepts, complete detailed designs, qualify products, support product release into production, analyze customer specifications and regulations, and lead product validations under supervision.
Experience and Qualifications:
* Mechanical Engineering Degree is essential.
* At least 3 years’ experience in design for manufacture of plastics.
* At least 3 years’ experience in design for manufacture of sheet metal.
* Proficiency in SolidWorks for at least 3 years.
* Ability to perform geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
