Here at Hays, we are working with a large established public sector organisation on the recruitment of a Procurement Consultant on a permanent basis to support the delivery of opportunities to grow revenues by engaging effectively with existing and new clients. This role is paying £40,757 per year along with hybrid working and some brilliant public sector benefits. You will be based in Wakefield; however, delivery of the consultancy projects could be from the customer base as required.
This role will be central in driving project customer-focused delivery, ensuring that solutions are compliant both with UK legislation and procurement regulations, and the role will require a high level of collaboration internally with procurement category teams.
Key Responsibilities for this role:
1. Responsible for delivering innovative solutions for customers of varying complexity, from fully managed end-to-end project lead to lower complexity support requirements.
2. You will be responsible for ensuring that solutions developed conform to procurement regulations.
3. Liaising effectively with the organisation and customer procurement services team to drive maximum benefit from internal expertise and knowledge and to ensure cohesive procurement solutions are developed and implemented.
4. Ensuring that customer solutions are aligned to the overall procurement strategy of the organisation.
5. Building effective relationships with customers and key links within the procurement category teams.
6. Proactively engage with current and potential customers to ensure future services meet the needs of the customer plans.
7. You will take full responsibility for the planning, organising, and delivery of assigned customer-led projects, including procurement delivery.
Qualifications and experience for this role:
1. Proven in-depth understanding of UK public sector procurement legislation, and the current social, economic, legislative, and political environment in which they operate.
2. Knowledge of the market, understanding of the challenges that are faced by the sector.
3. Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with both key internal and external stakeholders.
4. Goal-oriented and results-driven – willing to take ownership and responsibility for allocated procurements/projects.
5. Evidence of high-level performance and achievement in a large complex organisation.
6. CIPS Level 4.
