We are thrilled to announce a major contract win with Southern Water, so we’re on the lookout for a Learning & Development Advisor, someone who is enthusiastic, proactive, and has a passion for all things learning. Based in our Customer Solutions Centre in Durrington, you’ll be working across the Southern Water region to support our people in the field, our depots, and offices. You will be responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating a variety of L&D programmes. This could be helping our frontline teams deliver brilliant customer service, developing our leaders and managers, or supporting our newest team members during their onboarding. Position: Learning & Development Advisor Location: Customer Solution Centre, Worthing, East Sussex Job Type: Permanent, full-time Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5hours per week Salary: £30,000 - £34,000 per annum, depending upon experience About the Role: Your responsibilities will cover the following: Identification of Learning Needs Identify and analyse learning needs, skill gaps and new opportunities that are in line with organisational performance outcomes and objectives. Consult with stakeholders to discover information and receive feedback to inform learning needs. Use analytical skills to seek out needs and opportunities by analysing data Learning Design Design, develop and create effective learning and development solutions to meet a variety of needs and supporting organisational performance outcomes and objectives, including: Researching relevant delivery options and resources, both new and existing, including digital, online and blended solutions. Planning sessions and programmes Selecting appropriate delivery methods Designing learning and development activities which are creative, engaging, appropriate and inclusive (e-learning, digital collaboration, group sessions, blended etc.) Developing materials and resources to support learning and performance. Learning Delivery Facilitate and deliver learning in a face-to-face, blended and digital environment as appropriate. Plan, organise and prepare for a learning event / activity / intervention in a timely fashion. Confidently engage all learners in structured learner-centric training, using ‘content-driven’ training resources. Use a broad range of strategies and questioning techniques to interact with learners of varying abilities. Manage participation, behaviours and attitudes to achieve learning objectives. Monitor learner’s progress and deliver motivational and developmental feedback. Use effective coaching skills to enable learners to achieve learning objectives. Evaluation Evaluate the impact of learning solutions by measuring and assessing development initiatives for effectiveness, business relevance, performance improvement and efficiency. Analyse the impact of training from the learners’ experience. Continuous evaluation and review of existing learning material, resources, programmes and sessions, designing and delivering any improvements required. Use evaluation mechanisms for learning outcomes, including the use of quantitative and qualitative feedback where appropriate. Communication and Interpersonal Provide advice and guidance to individuals on personal and professional development. Communicate and influence using a range of media e.g. phone, face-to-face, email, online / virtual, adapting your style to your audience. Build trust and solid relationships with stakeholders, including our client, learners and colleagues. Advise stakeholders about learning and development interventions which will effectively address learning needs and help solve business issues. Teamwork and Collaboration Build and maintain strong relationships with others in the Learning & Development team, Customer Solutions Centre, out in the field and the wider business as required. Consistently support colleagues / collaborate within the team to achieve results. Support and collaborate with the Learning & Development Specialist to achieve organisation objectives. What we are looking for in you: Passionate about learning and development and keeps up to date with innovations and trends. Preferably CIPD Level 3 (or is working towards or willing to) Great at communicating at various levels – both verbally and in writing. Ability to create learning content, whether that be in person material, e-learning, digital, video, audio etc. Experience of delivering in person / virtual learning sessions. Ability to build strong relationships using your interpersonal skills. Strong organisation skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams.
