HC Knole Park’s aim is to be is a forward-thinking, creative, and inspirational hockey club for all hockey players wishing to progress their hockey. We run hockey for complete beginners, juniors from U8 - U18, Back to Hockey returners, junior international hockey players, regular adult players and everyone in between.
All members are united by a common ethos of wishing to improve their hockey and achieve their potential, whatever that is. This makes HCKP a very exciting environment to coach in. We pride ourselves on putting the same emphasis on hockey training and matches as we do on socialising, touring, and developing friendships. Your role as the coach is central to the club and what we are able to deliver.
We have grown over the last five years to close to 300 members and we now need more coaches to continue offer excellent coaching and training to all.
JOB DESCRIPTION
POTENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Lead coach of an age group or adult team(s)
* Work with assistant coaches, young leaders and managers to ensure that players experience a safe, inclusive fun and positive environment in which they can progress their hockey
* Take responsibility for pre-match, match and post-match activities for agreed teams
* Coaching sessions in line with HC Knole Park and England Hockey policies and procedures
* Coaching on holiday camps
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & PERSONAL QUALITIES:
* Have experience of coaching through school, club, or other activities
* Understand what is required to successfully develop players to progress and enjoy their hockey – more than likely through your own playing experiences
* Have started your England Hockey Coaching and/or Umpiring qualification journey, ideally holding a Club Coach Award, and Umpring Level 1, or be willing to work towards these this summer
* Hold a current First Aid Certificate and be prepared to undergo a DBS enhanced check
* Able to attend a Safeguarding Children Workshop
* Can work as lead coach and as part of a team, to deliver an excellent programme
* Be able to attend matches on Saturdays or Sundays as applicable. Be able or willing to umpire matches
* Hardworking and reliable with high standards and excellent attention to detail
* Excellent organisational and communication skills
* Inspirational, enthusiastic, and positive
* Committed to personal development and self-improvement
