Director of R&D: Database Growth
We are seeking an experienced leader to drive innovation in database growth for a global biodiscovery initiative. This role focuses on developing and optimising methods to enhance data generation, quality, and scalability. Based in London, the successful candidate will establish and manage a high-performing R&D team while collaborating with cross-functional teams in biodiversity partnerships, production, and data science.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead strategic R&D efforts to improve database growth methodologies.
* Recruit, mentor, and manage a team of scientists, fostering a high-performance culture.
* Develop and implement novel molecular biology and sequencing techniques.
* Work closely with internal teams to integrate new methodologies into production workflows.

Requirements:
* 5+ years of experience leading high-performing R&D teams.
* Strong background in molecular biology, next-generation sequencing, and non-model organism research.
