Healthcare Scheduler - Full Time SUMMARY Compiles personnel assignment schedules for nursing department. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Responsible for completing a master schedule every 6 (six) weeks for the nursing department or more frequently depending on staffing patterns/availability. Schedules must be printed and given to each employee at the beginning of each month. Maintain daily staffing sheets for 4 (four) nursing units. Post staffing sheets at the beginning of each day. Weekend sheets should be prepared and left for receptionist to post on Saturday and Sunday. Notify Healthcare Administrator and Director of Nursing of staffing needs. Interview Certified Nursing Candidates and assign them to units where needed. Participate in Orientation when needed. Maintain current listing of all full-time, part-time and prn employees. Set up new employees into Care Tracker system.. Responsible for contacting outside staffing agencies in the event internal staffing is not adequate. Handle and approve all requests for time requested off related to vacation, sickness, or personal leave. Maintain tracking system of attendance for the nursing department. Notify DON/ADON when disciplinary action is required Accept or reject callouts according to policy. Make arrangements to fill callouts in a timely manner. Determines and records work assignments according to worker availability, seniority, job classification, and preferences. Provide weekly staffing report via software program to DON. Submit Weekend Schedule to Director of Nursing and Nurse on Call by Wednesday of each week. Meet with DON at least weekly to discuss staffing as requested by DON. Adjusts schedules to meet emergencies caused by extended leave or increased production demands. Must interact courteously, tactfully and politely with managers, co-workers, residents, vendors or associates to preserve productivity and moral. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Several years of experience as a Scheduler preferred in geriatric care. Tech savvy and experience working with scheduling software is preferred.
