Purpose of the role Reporting to the District Operations Manager, the Relief Plant Supervisor is responsible for the overall control of each site he/she is covering. Main duties include the use of computer based systems for batching and dispatch of concrete, talking to customers both face to face and on the phone, carrying out routine maintenance, supervising contractors and hauliers to ensure the safe and efficient running of this site in accordance with the Health & Safety at Work Act and Environmental Legislation. Other key responsibilities include, ensuring that concrete produced, is compliant with our quality scheme and housekeeping standards at the site are maintained. Key accountabilities To liaise with the Customer Service Centre and ensure that production of concrete/mortar meets customers requirements and to give optimum output, quality and standards in accordance with the Procedures Manual, Working instructions and Technical Instructions To regularly inspect, carry out and ensure that plant routine maintenance is adhered to and that the cleanliness of the plant mechanism, plant area, buildings and equipment are maintained and cleaned in accordance with area and standing instructions To ensure that all waste disposals, water discharges and dust emissions are dealt with in accordance with the Environmental Procedures laid down To ensure that sufficient materials are available to meet the demands of production To inspect in coming materials and to carry out a visual stock check of all materials once a week and verify monthly.
