We are currently recruiting for a Welsh-speaking Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a student in a Primary School in Caerphilly. This role involves supporting a student with additional learning needs and attachment difficulties, ensuring they stay engaged and focused throughout the school day.
Start Date: ASAP – Potentially until July 2025
Location: Caerphilly
Interviews: Online via Microsoft Teams
What does a 1:1 Teaching Assistant do?
Support a student with additional learning needs and attachment difficulties throughout their school day.
Help break down tasks and ensure they understand their work.
Manage challenging behaviours and provide emotional support.
Encourage engagement and focus in lessons.
Work closely with teachers and support staff to create a positive learning environment.
What do you need to apply?
You do not need prior Teaching Assistant experience—candidates from care, support work, sports coaching, or similar backgrounds are highly encouraged to apply!
✅ Welsh-speaking skills (preferred but not essential)
✅ Experience working with children or vulnerable individuals
✅ Enhanced DBS certificate (on the update service)
✅ Registration with the EWC (Education Workforce Council)
