As an integral member of the Quality Team, reporting to the Head of Whisky Creations, the Quality Lab Analyst will perform tasks essential to ensuring the quality of raw materials, plant performance, new make spirit, mature spirit, finished bottled liquid in both the Distillery and Packaging site operations. â¢\tProviding analytical capability as required to maintain existing quality assessment and test regimes with reference to the appropriate Standard Operating Procedures,\nâ¢\tDistillery technical support with specific focus on predistillation efficiencies, spirit quality, bio plant operations,\nâ¢\tReview and maintain quality procedures such that they reflect up to date lab practices,\nâ¢\tParticipation in and management of sensory analysis programme,\nâ¢\tAssist with regulatory compliance for HSE, Scottish Water and SEPA as required (eg sampling and recording of effluent discharges),\nâ¢\tParticipate in complaint resolution,\nâ¢\tSupport continued BRC and FEMAS accreditations,\nâ¢\tDrive quality improvements through collation, use and presentation of analytical data,\nâ¢\tSupport product development,\nâ¢\tLiaison with external laboratories.\n Essential\nâ¢\tA minimum of 3 Higher passes including a science and maths.\nâ¢\tExcellent numeracy and literacy â will require to work to detailed quality standards.\nâ¢\tDemonstrable examples of where self-confidence has delivered positive outcomes.\nâ¢\tDemonstrable examples of where owning a piece of work or a structured approach to work has delivered a positive outcome.\nâ¢\tDemonstrable examples of where difficulties or adversity have been overcome and delivered a positive outcome.\nâ¢\tTeam focussed and can demonstrate where working with others has delivered results.\nâ¢\tSource solutions with a strong desire to continuously improve and develop.\n\nYou will have a âcan do attitudeâ, a willingness to learn to develop and be passionate in an industry with limitless opportunities for the right individual with the right level of drive, enthusiasm and scientific interest in a role where the individual will benefit from structured training and education whilst gaining valuable work experience and people skills.
