Job summary
We are looking to appoint a Consultant in Emergency Care to join our ED team at Broomfield on a full time fixed term basis.
The successful applicant will be expected to provide consultant advice and treatment to patients with emergency problems attending the Emergency Department. The post holders will share responsibility for the delivery of emergency medicine services with the other Emergency Medicine Consultants.
Our hospital has an outstanding nursery. We are spoilt for choice with excellent schools, housing and transport links. Central London is a 25 minute train ride, Stansted airport 30 minutes away, and the beach 20 miles away.

Main duties of the job
The post holders will be required to supervise a team of junior medical staff and to work to the Consultant on call rota. This is anticipated to be 1:10 weekdays with weekend cover 1:5. The consultant roster is annualised incorporating annual, study and professional leave allowances.
The new consultant will also be expected to continue to review and develop the service, in partnership with the existing consultants and management team, to meet the requirements of the local population and standards of care within the Emergency Department in line with the Clinical Operations policy.

Teaching Experience
Essential
1. Knowledge and experience of supervising undergraduates, junior doctors and other staff
2. Ability to teach clinical skills
Research/Audit Experience

3. Knowledge of the principles of research/audit and ability to interpret and apply clinical research.
4. Ability to apply research outcomes to clinical and surgical problems

5. Recent published clinical research in peer reviewed journal.

7. MBBS or Equivalent
8. GMC Registration with entry on Specialist Register; eligible for entry on Register or within six months of receipt of Certificate of Completion of training (CCT) at time of interview
