Role Responsibilities:
As Head of Art and Photography, you will take a lead role in inspiring creativity and a love for the arts, ensuring students have opportunities to develop their skills and express themselves. Responsibilities include:
Overseeing the Art and Photography curriculum, creating an inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
Managing and supporting a team of teachers, providing mentorship and guidance.
Developing lesson plans and projects that encourage students’ creativity and technical abilities.
Organising exhibitions and showcases to celebrate students' achievements and engage the school community.
Collaborating with colleagues and senior leadership to enhance the arts department and drive forward the school’s vision.
Requirements of the Head of Art and Photography Teacher:
A relevant degree in Art, Design, or a related field.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
Proven experience in teaching Art and Photography at secondary level.
Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire both students and staff.
Knowledge of the National Curriculum and examination requirements.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.
