SEN Teaching Assistants needed - perfect for Graduate Psychology Students
Are you a passionate psychology graduate eager to gain hands-on experience in special educational needs (SEN) support? We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and empathetic individual to join our team as a SEN Teaching Assistant. This role is designed specifically for graduate psychology students who are keen to make a meaningful impact in the education sector while expanding their knowledge and skills in special education. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students with a variety of learning needs, including those with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and other cognitive or emotional challenges. Your role will involve supporting both the students and teachers, ensuring that students are engaged, confident, and achieving their full potential.
Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Preston SEN Schools, PR1, PR2, PR3, PR4, PR5.
Hours: 8.30-3.30
Start Date: ASAP.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist the class teacher in creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment for SEN students.
* Provide tailored one-on-one or small group support for students with different learning needs.
* Implement strategies from Educational Health Care Plans to support students' progress.
* Help with behavior management and the implementation of positive reinforcement techniques.
* Collaborate with other staff and professionals, including psychologists and special education coordinators, to monitor student progress.
* Engage in continuous professional development and training to further your expertise in SEN education.
We're seeking an enthusiastic individual who has:
* A degree in psychology or a related field (or currently pursuing one).
* A genuine interest in working with students with special educational needs.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Patience, empathy, and a proactive attitude.
* A desire to contribute to students' academic and emotional growth.
* Previous experience working in a school or educational setting (preferred but not essential).
