This role is based in the UK and will be working on site in our UK based College.

BACKGROUND TO THE POST
WCG is a large FE/HE multi-site College offering courses at six campuses across Warwickshire and Worcestershire. Several of the Colleges have their own library dedicated to supporting the learning needs of their users. The Library Service is temporarily part of the Skills and Apprenticeships Directorate
Working within a team providing services to a diverse community, you must be flexible, enthusiastic and adaptable in an ever-changing but exciting environment. You will be in regular contact with staff, so effective communication, good customer care and interpersonal skills are essential requirements, as is a good level of computer literacy.
The Library Team Leader will have the responsibility for the delivery of the library service and the line management of staff delivering those services at Royal Leamington Spa College. This role will report directly to the Library Manager.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
General
Contribute to the development and implementation of policies, procedures and services to deliver
the highest quality services and maximise their effectiveness.
Contribute to the production of reports, statistics, key performance indicators and any other
management information required.
Line manage the library staff at Royal Leamington Spa College including carrying out performance
reviews and contributing to recruitment as necessary.
Be responsible for the day-to-day management of finance-related paperwork and records, and to
assist with the preparation and monitoring of budgets.
Support numeracy and literacy through activities to engage students using the service.
Support the delivery of additional study skills to students as required to encourage independent
learning.
Resources
Contribute to the management of the life cycle of resources.
Ensure the resources at Royal Leamington Spa College meet the needs of staff and students,
liaising directly with curriculum areas to assess their requirements and inform them of new
resources available.
Follow library procedures when making acquisitions, stock administration and discarding.
Ensure that requests for materials not immediately available are satisfied through the efficient
functioning of the reservations and inter-library loan service.
Customer Service
Support and supervise library staff to deliver a customer focussed service.
Assisting users in using information resources.
Maintaining an appropriate learning environment for students.
Resolving escalated queries.
Generating communication about the library service to staff and students.
Managing student behaviour in the library area.
Ensure all students receive an induction to Library Services including information on the resources available online.
In order to support during busy exam periods, you may be asked to undertake exam invigilator duties. The College will provide training.

Essential Attainments

✓ First Aider qualification, or willingness to attain in post.
