We are seeking a highly skilled consultant Adult Psychiatrist with broad experience to join our team at University College Hospital.
The post-holder will be the main Adult Psychiatrist providing clinical support to GI patients through avoiding unnecessary medicalisation, formulating comprehensive treatment plans, facilitating efficient MDT meetings, reducing length of stay and fostering collaborative relationships.

Main duties of the job
The post-holder will be expected to carry out 2 Programmed Activities (PAs) at UCLH. It is expected that the post-holder will attend a weekly ward round in GI to support effective discharge planning of admitted patients and to attend the weekly MDT to discuss patients and support plans for complex cases.
Close liaison with UCLH GI Physiology clinical staff and with local community-based services will be essential. UCLH is committed to developing robust mechanisms to ensure the delivery of the best possible standards of clinical governance, in which the post-holder is expected to play a full part.

Person Specification
Knowledge and Qualifications
Essential
* Full GMC Registration
* On GMC Specialist Register or within 6 months of attainment of CCST in gastroenterology and GIM Part II MRCP or equivalent.
* Widespread broad based knowledge in all aspects of gastroenterology
* Knowledge of Clinical Governance framework of NHS (inc research governance).
* Understanding of current changes in the management and organisational structures of the NHS. Ability to work within these parameters.
* Knowledge and understanding of principles of resource and budgetary management.
Desirable
* Higher degree MD/MS or PhD (or in final stages of equivalent level of attainment in research publications).
