Job summary Fixed Term Contract 12 months (Maternity leave cover) Occupational Therapist B6 22.5 hours We are looking for an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our friendly Childrens Occupational Therapy team in Worcestershire. The successful candidate will be working alongside a dynamic team of OTs, Assistant Practitioners, Physiotherapists and Specialist Play Nursery Nurses providing a community service to children and young people with a variety of needs. The post holder would be based at one of our three bases and will be required to travel across other sites. The service works closely with mainstream and special schools, the multi-disciplinary team and our local authority to ensure childrens needs are supported. Our service also includes assessment of specialist equipment therefore knowledge of specialist equipment is desirable. We offer a variety of opportunities for learning, CPD, multi-disciplinary working and have a strong focus on supervision. Main duties of the job The main duties of this role include: Holding a varied caseload completing OT assessments and interventions including assessment for specialist equipment. Being able to identify children and young peoples OT needs and develop care plans using a goal setting approach. To supervise and support other members of the therapy service including assistant practitioners and students. Having excellent communication skills including report writing for Education, Health and Care Plans. Knowledge of assessments and treatment options typically used with children and a clear understanding of the evidence base. Application of policies and legislation related to children, young people and families including safeguarding children.
