The Faculty incorporates seven departments as well as several vibrant institutes and centres with broad ranging programmes of activity across research, education, impact and engagement, thought leadership, and knowledge transfer.
About The Role
The Head of Business Operations is a key member of King’s Business School’s Professional Services Leadership Team and responsible for leading the faculty’s business support function and the delivery of a portfolio of services across the faculty and Centres including Finance, HR, business compliance, executive support, health and safety, estate management, project management and process development and improvements.
The post holder will oversee all business operation processes within the faculty and lead a team to deliver high performance, continuous improvement and an outstanding level of service and support.
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the successful candidate will be a strong leader with experience of line management and creating high-performing, motivated operations teams. They will have extensive experience of delivering excellent operational support and working in a varied and fast-paced environment. Communication with diverse audiences and building collaborative relationships is a key aspect of the role. We are seeking a confident, self-assured individual with demonstrable experience of building networks and influencing and negotiating with stakeholders. A commitment to fostering excellence in others and support for equality, diversity and inclusion is essential.
The Head of Business Operations has line management responsibility for the Faculty Business Manager, the Senior Strategic Projects Manager, the Centre Managers, and their associated teams.
This is a full time post (35 Hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract.
King’s Business School operates a hybrid working policy and you will be expected to spend a minimum of two working days per week on campus.
Essential Criteria
* Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
* Significant experience leading and managing high-performing teams and a demonstrated commitment to fostering equality, diversity and inclusion
* Strong financial acumen, with significant experience with budgeting and complex financial management
* Significant experience in leading the development, application and improvement of policies and processes
* Significant track record of delivering an efficient and effective service to stakeholders
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate complex information to a range of audiences
* Significant experience of managing projects and delivering to tight deadlines
* Numerate and adept at understanding, analysing and presenting data
Desirable criteria
* Experience of higher education and faculty operations
* Experience working with AI and automation and/or the use of technology to improve services
* Experience developing analytics reports, e.g. the design of Power BI dashboards
Grade and Salary: £63,596-£72,757 Inclusive of London Weighting Allowance
