Due to recent growth and investment out client are seeking a Head of operations to assist the current Managing Director.
Salary / Benefits
* Typical working hours are 0800 to 1800 Monday to Friday however the candidate will manage their own time/diary commitments and deploy themselves depending on the current needs of the business.
* Holiday entitlement is 28 days per year inc statutory holidays.
* Basic renumeration £60k plus EBIT / performance linked bonus *criteria TBC.

Position Overview:
The Head of Operations will oversee all logistics operations, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in service delivery. This role involves strategic planning, team leadership, and collaboration with various departments to enhance operational performance and customer satisfaction.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Provide vision, leadership, guidance and motivation to the team, with the clear goal of ensuring Speed remains the clear leader within its marketplace.
* Support the teams with solving day to day operational issues and challenges, providing coaching and guidance to empower and develop them within their own roles.
* Support the teams with ensuring appropriate levels of resource are in place, and that the operation runs efficiently and profitably.
* Collaborate with customers and key leaders within the business to help identify and develop new opportunities.
* Identify talent, develop and empower team members at all levels.
* Ensure appropriate standards of recruitment, managing conduct and capability issues and disciplinaries are maintained at all times.
* Maintain appropriate standards (including H&S and housekeeping) across the business and challenge and resolve non-compliance.
* Develop a deep understanding of the clients of the business. Meet customers, attend reviews when required, understand their requirements and look for opportunities to deepen and broaden commercial relationships. Take a lead in resolving issues.
* Actively collaborate with the customer services team to ensure operational excellence is delivered.
* Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across service, cost reduction & profitability, efficiency, safety and sustainability.
* Ensure effective operational standards and procedures are maintained at all times – taking into account the defined procedures of our networks and partners – striving to ensure that Speed becomes one of the highest performing depots within its networks.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
* Operational Knowledge
* Can demonstrate a deep understanding of the transport and logistics industry.
* Preferably has experience within a network distribution (pallets/parcels) environment.
* Transport Manager CPC or similar qualification would be beneficial.
* Solid understanding of Health & Safety at an operational management level
