Job Description: Buyer (Electrical Manufacturing Company)
Role Overview:As a Purchasing Assistant, you'll support the purchasing team within manufacturing by ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and supplies. You'll work closely with suppliers, manage inventory, track orders, assist in negotiating prices and dealing with invoice queries.
Key Responsibilities:
* Source and order materials for production following sales demands and manufacturing forecasts.
* Manage inventory levels, stock shortages, alternative components and obsolete parts.
* Track deliveries and update order status. Liaising with warehouse to schedule deliveries.
* Onboard new suppliers, conduct supplier evaluations and performance reviews of existing suppliers.
* Assist in negotiating supplier contracts and pricing.
* Collaborate with the production team to meet project deadlines.
Skills Required:
* Strong organizational and communication skills.
* Basic understanding of manufacturing processes.
* Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
Salary: From £25k based on experience
Hours: Monday-Friday 8.00am - 4.30pm
