Job Description: Buyer (Electrical Manufacturing Company)
Role Overview:
As a Purchasing Assistant, you'll support the purchasing team within manufacturing by ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and supplies. You'll work closely with suppliers, manage inventory, track orders, assist in negotiating prices and dealing with invoice queries.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Source and order materials for production following sales demands and manufacturing forecasts.
2. Manage inventory levels, stock shortages, alternative components and obsolete parts.
3. Track deliveries and update order status, liaising with warehouse to schedule deliveries.
4. Onboard new suppliers, conduct supplier evaluations and performance reviews of existing suppliers.
5. Assist in negotiating supplier contracts and pricing.
6. Collaborate with the production team to meet project deadlines.
Skills Required:
1. Strong organizational and communication skills.
2. Basic understanding of manufacturing processes.
3. Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
Salary: From £25k based on experience
Hours: Monday-Friday 8.00am - 4.30pm
