Interim Private Sector Housing Enforcement Officer

Pay Rate: £32.13 per hour PAYE
37 Monday – Friday, normal working hours
This opening assignment is for 3 months
City: BOURNEMOUTH
Flexible with working times and from home but will need to be visiting a minimum of 3 days a week in the BCP area.
Candidates will need full driving licence
As an Officer of the Private Sector Housing Enforcement Team, you will travel throughout the BCP area to implement and enforce laws in the private residential sector. This includes addressing housing deficiencies, inspections for the Houses in Multiple Occupation and Mobile Homes licensing schemes, and ensuring compliance in higher-risk residential buildings.
Key Responsibilities:
Undertake HHSRS inspections for single dwelling complaints in private rented sector
Revisits to single dwelling disrepair complaints in the private rented sector to check compliance with schedule of works
Gather evidence for breaches of Housing Act 2004 for potential Civil Penalties and prosecutions
Recording of actions and time-keeping must be excellent
Qualifications:
Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) qualified
Knowledge:
In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, codes and guidance
Experience:
Experience of inspecting properties and carrying out HHSRS assessments and taking action under the Housing Act 2004
Experience in use of the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) and the local authorities regulatory and enforcement powers in relation to HMOs and private sector housing conditions.
