An exciting opportunity for a Digital First Line Technician to join an enthusiastic and developing team in the Powys Digital Directorate. The Digital First Line Technician will be a proactive team member who investigates, solves or escalates as appropriate all user issues. With the chance to get involved in projects and upgrades, this role will offer a varied, challenging and rewarding job. Helping the userbase to make best use of the technologies, services and systems available to improve patient care through improved efficiencies. This post is advertised as a Band 5; however, applicants who do not currently hold all the necessary competencies to the Band 5 level are encouraged to apply and, if successful, will be appointed under Annex 21 rules whereby 75% of the top of Band 5 will be payable during the first 12 months or until all competencies have been completed.
Main duties of the job
1. Provide technical advice and support on hardware and software to Health Board wide users.
2. Assist in the smooth day-to-day running of all Digital systems, which will include regularly attending sites over a wide geographical area.
3. Manage, troubleshoot and resolve desktop-based system and printer-related issues quickly to provide efficient and effective user support.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Experience
* Experience in delivering IT services in an MS environment including Server, Client and Office.
* Experience of working in a technical support role with proven experience supporting IT systems.
* Knowledge and understanding of the role of PTHB Digital Services.

£30,420 to £37,030 a year per annum plus an on-call premium once experienced.
