The Head of Organisational Planning will lead the Organisational Planning team to develop and oversee the corporate planning, Objectives & Key Results (OKR), and programmatic excellence functions. They will ensure timely decision-making, prioritisation and visibility on how the organisation plan to deliver their strategy and that they understand how they are performing against short and medium-term plans. This will be underpinned by driving a culture of continuous improvement. Main responsibilities of the role Drive the delivery and monitoring of Wellcome’s strategy through departmental plans. Contribute to the creation and development of a high performing and inclusive culture across the organisation that attracts top talent. Advocate for Wellcome’s mission in all internal and external interactions, demonstrating Wellcome’s impact in achieving its mission. Lead the Organisational Planning Team, setting clear objectives to achieve Wellcome’s goals. Seek to continually improve the planning processes, including use of OKRs, to ensure our practice is fit for purpose and strategically aligned. Collaborate with senior stakeholders to develop short and medium-term plans for all teams to deliver on Wellcome’s strategy. Centrally develop and deploy standardised data collection, storage, analytical tools and dashboards for portfolio, programme & project level activities Manage resource allocation and scheduling for cross-Wellcome projects ensuring optimal use of resources. Prepare and present reports for senior stakeholders on planning and OKR approach and progress. Work closely with Strategy and Impact team to ensure strategic join up across both teams. Ensure team operates within the agreed budget and headcount, having contributed to their development. Core criteria Experience of implementing strategies, programmes and operating plans. Experience of managing budgets, headcount, and leading positive, high performing teams and inclusive working cultures. Strong experience of corporate planning processes and of aligning organisational goals with resources in complex environments, ideally including OKRs Significant experience in strategic planning, strategy or related field, with track record of successful programme completion. Experience working with senior stakeholders. Skills Strong interpersonal skills, collegial with high integrity and committed to the highest ethical standards. Strategic thinking coupled with a pragmatic approach. Excellent management skills, able to lead, motivate and develop highly skilled multi-disciplinary teams. A fluent and persuasive communicator.
