Production Shift Manager

Monday to Friday.
£45,000 plus £3K Bonus.

As a Production Shift Manager you will be responsible for driving the performance of your team to achieve above and beyond their expected KPIs - paying particular focus on training and development, up skilling where possible. You will assist the Operations Manager to ensure the teams are run in the most cost effective and efficient manner, ensuring all health & safety is complied with and agreeing production schedules. The role will need your positive attitude when holding daily activity briefings, ensuring that planned KPI’s are met.
You will implement cost effective measures, manage lean manufacturing, monitor stock, create bills of materials and ensure all raw materials are available for the production teams.
1. Ensure deadlines are monitored throughout the department and actions taken to ensure they are met.
2. Create and execute production plans to deliver against customer requirements.
3. Communicate changes to the plans to ensure all stakeholders understand the current status.
4. Ensure the health, safety and welfare for your teams through the completion or risk assessments, implementation of actions and monitoring of compliance.
5. Monitor production metrics such as efficiency, scrap, cost and lead-time.
6. Monitor spend across labour and materials and take actions which improve cost levels.
7. Contribute to the planned maintenance schedule ensuring that planned maintenance activities are optimised for efficiency.
8. Provide monthly report on the performance of your shift, referencing area KPI’s.
9. Contribute to the criticality plan for asset parts to reduce overall breakdowns.
10. Complete daily briefings and communication sessions with teams.
11. Monitor, plan and implement improvements in housekeeping and 5S.
12. Ensure the department has a focus on continuous improvement in all aspects of Visual Management, Focused Improvement, Teamwork, 5S, Quality.
Minimum Requirements:
At least 2 years of experience at Management level in manufacturing/production in a fast-paced environment.
Experience in working within diverse teams with an adaptable management style.
