Job Title: Teaching Assistant

Leader Education is recruiting a Teaching Assistant for an alternative provision in Gateshead. This all-through school works with learners who have transitioned out of mainstream education due to a variety of Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, as well as behavioural needs.
The aim of this school is to help pupils reintegrate into mainstream education or transition to a provision that best suits their needs.
The school is seeking an individual with experience of working with or supporting vulnerable individuals.
The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30 until 16:30 and is a long-term position.
The successful candidate will:
* Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or a willingness to obtain one.
* Have experience with SEMH or vulnerable individuals.
* Work with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in a group setting, communicating effectively.
* Work effectively with parents, carers, and other members of multidisciplinary teams to provide the best support.
* Be flexible and resilient.
* Possess communication skills that can be personalised to suit students of different abilities.
