About the Role
NG Bailey Facilities Services are looking for a skilled and customer-focused Resident Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Meadowhall Centre in Sheffield. In this key role, you will support the contract by providing mechanical, electrical, and building fabric maintenance for the centre, while also assisting retailers in emergency situations. We are currently delivering on a 4 year phased lighting upgrade as well as other projects, ensure a steady stream of over-time work for those who wish to earn more.
The site is easy access to those in the surrounding areas of Chesterfield, Barnsley, Wakefield or Sheffield. With free manned staff parking available to all employees as well as direct transport links for those who do not drive.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct maintenance and repairs of all landlord-owned mechanical and electrical services.
Perform statutory and routine testing of safety systems, including fire alarms, sprinkler systems, emergency lighting, and standby generators.
Undertake planned preventative maintenance (PPM), such as air handling unit servicing and emergency lighting testing, in line with the SFG20 standard.
Respond to reactive maintenance needs to ensure continuous operation of technical services.
Be familiar with other trades to deliver first-line maintenance and repairs for building fabric, plumbing, fire systems, and BMS.
Provide advice and guidance to retailers in emergency situations.
Take responsibility for all technical issues arising outside of normal office hours.
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking a highly motivated individual with relevant experience and qualifications in electrical maintenance and installation within a commercial environment. As this is a customer-facing role, strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential. As well as:
Recognised Electrical Apprenticeship (Preferred but not essential).
City & Guilds Electrical competency Parts 1 & 2 or equivalent.
17th / 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations.
Experience with PPMs in-line with SFG20 and resulting reactive work.
