Senior ICT Support Engineer (Critical Systems)
Location: Worcester (Office Based)
Salary: £49,000 - £55,000 (+ excellent benefits)

We are looking to recruit a Senior ICT Support Engineer (Critical Systems) for a technology-driven public sector organisation. This role will see you providing high-level technical support for critical systems and applications that are essential to ensuring the safety and efficiency of their operations. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining and supporting vital ICT services, specialist applications, and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver expert technical support across a range of critical systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
2. Provide local supervision and guidance to colleagues within the Specialist Technical Support Team.
3. Ensure the delivery of a high-quality, end-to-end ICT service for both internal and external customers.
4. Manage incidents and changes in line with ITIL best practices to minimize disruption and ensure seamless service delivery.
5. Support and maintain key infrastructure components, including Windows Server, VMware, M365, and networks.
6. Troubleshoot and resolve issues within command and control systems, ensuring critical services remain operational.
Essential Skills & Experience:
1. Strong background in application support and Windows Server environments.
2. Experience in VMware and M365.
3. Experience with ITIL incident and change management processes.
4. Excellent problem-solving abilities and a customer-centric approach to support.
5. Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments, especially within Operations & Communications Centres.
Desirable Skills:
1. Experience with command and control systems (Saab SAFE, Sopra Steria STORM, Capita ControlWorks, etc.).
2. Knowledge of networking and telephony systems.
3. Experience in database support (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle).
4. Familiarity with Airwave radio systems and Azure Virtual Desktop.
5. Exposure to load balancing (JetNexus) and monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds).
6. A background in cybersecurity or supporting policing/emergency services technology.
