We're working closely with a lovely special school based in the Newbury area that is looking for a teacher to join them after the Easter holidays. The school looks after a range of different special needs & disabilities but is most focused on SEMH & ASD students (aged 4-13).
The school is a lovely bunch who are very proud of the important work they do at the school; it's challenging work but ridiculously rewarding! We have a couple of TA's currently at the school joining on a permanent basis who are incredibly complimentary of staff and the support they receive.
The role
This class is a Year 4 class of 8 SEMH students where you will be ably supported by 2 permanent TA's who know the students well. This role can be flexible in terms of responsibilities, so whether you'd prefer to simply lead the class of students or take on a full-time teaching role (planning & marking etc.) - they are open to both!
It's essential that you have worked with SEMH students before, you must feel confident in managing challenging behaviour and preferably hold a QTS. The school is open to a range of applications!
