Registered Children's Home Manager

Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 per annum

Introduction:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Children's Home Manager to lead our brand new Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) service in Nottingham. This is a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of setting up a new home, from registration through to its first inspection, and to recruit and develop a dedicated team of professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Service Registration: Ensure the successful registration of the home with relevant regulatory bodies, ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements.
2. Team Recruitment: Lead the recruitment process for a skilled and dedicated team, including residential care workers, support staff, and other necessary personnel.
3. Leadership and Management: Provide strong leadership and management to the team, ensuring high standards of care and support are consistently delivered.
4. Inspection Preparation: Oversee the preparation for and management of the home's first inspection, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
5. Policy Development: Develop and implement policies and procedures that promote the welfare, safety, and well-being of the children and young people in the home.
6. Budget Management: Manage the home's budget effectively, ensuring financial sustainability and the provision of high-quality care.
7. Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, including local authorities, families, and external agencies.
8. Quality Assurance: Implement robust quality assurance systems to monitor and improve service delivery and outcomes for children and young people.
Requirements:
1. Experience: At least 2 years of experience as a Registered Manager in a children's residential setting. Experience in setting up a new service is highly desirable but not essential.
2. Qualifications: Relevant qualifications such as Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
3. Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of EBD and the challenges faced by children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
4. Regulatory Understanding: Comprehensive understanding of regulatory requirements and best practices in residential childcare.
5. Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
6. Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and stakeholders.
