Role:As a Senior/Principal Mechanical Design Engineer, you'll play a vital role within the team, operating with a high degree of autonomy. You should possess strong organisational skills, flexibility, drive, and the ability to plan ahead, ensuring work is delivered to a high standard within tight deadlines. Additionally, you should be capable of managing the mechanical engineering aspects of junior team members assisting on projects. Key responsibilities include:Acting as a Project Leader on designated projects.Collaborating as part of a larger team on specific projects.Attending principal meetings and delivering client presentations for selected projects.Enhancing the level of technical excellence in mechanical engineering within the team.Developing the ability to become a primary contact for key clients over time.Assisting in generating repeat business through excellent customer care.Working on a variety of technically challenging and interesting projects across different sectors.Engaging directly with clients and being involved in all project stages from inception to completion.Collaborating closely with team members to achieve common goals.Producing drawings and specifications, as well as providing guidance for calculations. Experience & Qualifications: A degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering (Chartered or working towards). Candidates with HNC or HND and relevant design experience will also be considered.A minimum of 3-4 years' post-qualification experience in building services design.Proficiency in software design tools such as the Microsoft suite, Relux/Dialux, Amtech, and Revit.Familiarity with British and European Standards, Building Regulations, and HTM's would be advantageous.Membership in professional bodies such as CIBSE or IET.A good understanding of HV/LV systems and the integration of embedded generation.Knowledge and specification of various renewable technologies.Working knowledge of BREEAM.An appreciation of electrical engineering to cover both disciplines at meetings.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.A strong willingness to learn and develop new skills.
