JOB DESCRIPTION The Sales Engineer, based in the United Kingdom, serves as the customer-facing technical expert for Scality. They collaborate with local Account Executives to support their business development efforts in United Kingdom, Northern Ireland and Northern Europe. As a member of the broader Sales Engineering team in EMEA, Sales Engineers play a crucial role in fostering a global community that supports Scality and Partner Sales Teams. HIGHLIGHTS · Represent Scality in the UK, Ireland and Northern Europe markets as a pre-sales engineer collaborating with UK based account executives. · Expected to technically qualify opportunities and determine compatibility between Scality products and the prospects’ technical requirements. · Knowledgably present product roadmaps and information to customers and partners. · Actively coordinate proof-of-concepts and deliver product demonstrations. · Architect solutions that meet the specified requirements, including selecting suitable third-party integrations. · Collaborate and support Partner Sales and Pre-Sales teams to pursue and qualify opportunities, enabling them to become Scality evangelists. · Respond to RFI’s and RFQ’s and build proposals. · Provide SCA training to partners in the region. · Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Scality technology and its vision. · Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the relevant industry sector and key competitive technologies. · Communicate customer requirements to Scality Product Management teams to influence future product development. QUALIFICATIONS · Relevant work experience in either a large enterprise or smaller partner organisation. · 5-10 years of experience in enterprise infrastructure solutions architecture and/or sales engineering. · 5 years of experience in enterprise and/or channel selling and designing solutions. · A passion for supporting customers and partners optimising technical and price constraints. · Experience in designing and promoting infrastructure solutions in specific industry verticals, such as Financial Services, Healthcare, Cloud and Telco Service Providers, Media, Government, Education & Research, and AI. · Familiarity with common business tools like Salesforce, G Suite, email, Slack, Microsoft Office products, GitHub, Jira, and Zendesk. · Moderate Linux expertise and comfort in using the bash shell. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION · All locations in the United Kingdom will be considered with a strong preference on Southern England. · Location is mostly “work from home office” but with some travel into London and Northern Europe. · Must have UK passport or appropriate work visa. · While primarily a native English speaker, a second language is desirable.
