Reporting into the Finance Manager, and as an integral part of the finance team, the main responsibilities of the accounts assistant are to look after all aspects of purchase ledger processing, oversee the concur expenses system, dealing with any queries that might arise, and to assist other members of the finance team in the performance of their duties particularly in relation to month-end and year-end audit work.
Our Role
* Processing purchase ledger invoices with accuracy, resolving discrepancies, and entering data into the Esker purchase ledger system.
* Communicating with vendors, employees, and other individuals to answer questions, resolve invoice discrepancies, and obtain missing documents. Addressing and resolving escalated issues in a timely manner.
* Matching invoices to Purchase Orders.
* Checking coding on invoices and, where necessary, agreeing changes.
* Providing help and support as requested during audits.
* Ensuring inter-company balances are agreed at the month-end.
* Looking after all admin related to the concur expenses system and becoming the go-to person when people have questions on expense claims.
* Assisting the rest of the finance team in carrying out their work during busy periods at month-end and year-end.
* Following company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or applicable employment agreement. Following safety guidelines and procedures in accordance to the job.
What you will need to be successful:
1. Previous purchase ledger experience.
2. Confident using Excel spreadsheets.
3. Knowledge and experience of SAP.
4. Must have excellent verbal, written and numeracy skills, with great attention to detail.
5. Must be flexible with work schedules at busy periods.
