Ellern Mede Moorgate is currently seeking a qualified and experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse to join their team.
We are looking for individuals who are driven and committed to supporting patients with specialist eating disorders. The post holder will work as a key member of the nursing team within our specialist Eating Disorder Unit, which is in the process of transitioning into an Acute Female Mental Health Ward. Initially, the focus will be on providing high-quality care for patients with eating disorders, but as the service transitions, the role will expand to include care for women experiencing acute mental health crises. This change reflects our evolving service model to meet the broader mental health needs of women in crisis, requiring intensive short-term support.
Location: Moorgate, Rotherham.
The working hours are as follows:
Days: 07:45am – 20:15pm
Nights: 20:15pm – 07:45am
40.25 hours - 4 days a week including 2 weekends a month every other weekend (shift pattern)
Salary Packages:
* Staff Nurse £35,000 – £38,500 (1 year – 3 years plus competency)
* Senior Staff Nurse £39,000 – £42,000 (3 years plus competency)
* Charge Nurse equivalent £43,000 (fully competency based)

Main Duties of the Job
* To work as a competent practitioner and role model in the provision of therapeutic care and treatment to the young people in the service and their families, under the direction of senior nurses and consultant psychiatrists.
* To demonstrate creativity, thoughtfulness, sensitivity and respect to young people and their families at all times.
* To ensure that the views and opinions of the young people are actively sought and used to support partnership in the planning and delivery of family-centred care.
* To liaise with families to ensure seamless patient care.
* To act as associate/key-worker to young people and to participate in family/review meetings in this role as required.
* To participate in the planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care plans and treatment decision-making processes.
* To possess adequate knowledge of nursing skills and to provide a welcoming, safe and friendly environment for all young people and families. To take appropriate responsibility for ensuring the internal and external physical environment is organised and developmentally appropriate.
* As the service transitions, expand care to include patients experiencing acute mental health crises, ensuring timely intervention, stabilisation, and recovery support.
* Engage in continuous learning regarding both eating disorder treatments and acute mental health interventions, staying informed about current research and developments in these fields.
