Following significant growth in Mitie's FM contract Base, Mitie Controls are now seeking to recruit experienced and enthusiastic BMS Controls Engineers to join our established and successful team of professionals.
This mobile role offers a variety of challenges which will provide the opportunity to deliver PPM activities to key clients along with additional remedial and commissioning works. You will work as part of a regional team and alongside our Energy Management team analysing opportunities to optimise existing Building Management Systems and gaining valuable information on how Mitie are achieving net zero for our customers.
You will need to be suitably qualified and have experience and training of a market leading Building Management System. You will also need to have a strong technical understanding of integration to third party systems and HVAC plant and applications. Ideally you will be electrically biased with at least 3 years' experience of Trend Controls and / or Tridium / Niagara.
What will you do day to day?
1. Provide an exceptional level of commitment and professionalism in delivering value enhancing BMS PPM activities across Mitie's portfolio of FM clients.
2. Identify and deliver opportunities for improvements and essential remedial works that will increase the performance of the BMS for both our end clients and the Mitie site teams.
3. Have the opportunity to design and configure controller strategies and schematics for Trend, Tridium and Distech solutions.
4. Complete “Deep Dive” energy optimisation works alongside the Energy Managers to enhance the opportunities for energy savings and carbon reduction.
5. Carry out surveys, proposals and quoting of small / remedial works as required.
6. Support the wider BMS Operations teams with ad hoc Reactive Callouts.
7. Seek opportunities to gain greater experience of Tridium, Trend and Distech through small project commissioning.
8. Be focused on the Mitie Plan Zero initiative and support all service line opportunities wherever possible.
9. Ensure all Health and Safety standards are maintained across all sites.
Who will you work with?
The National BMS Operation consists of a team of over 50 engineers, managers and support colleagues. You will be an integral part of this team and will work alongside and under the direction and guidance of the Regional Operations Manager.
Experience & Skills
1. Ideally you will have knowledge and experience equal to the Trend Expert competency level and have the ability to confidently modify software and schematics for 963 & IQVision.
2. You will be confident in the use of SET and or an alternative Software Engineering Tool.
3. Have a strong knowledge of two BMS solutions with the ability to design / modify software and schematics.
4. Be experienced in integrating solutions / systems through a number of different protocols including Modbus, MBus, Bacnet.
5. Ideally have a good knowledge of IT networks and IP Configuration.
6. Be effective in anticipating and understanding customer expectations and ensure customer requirements are met and expectations appropriately managed. Able to build partner relationships with customers and suppliers focusing on solving any problems.
7. Have an understanding of Metering and Open Protocol solutions.
