I'm looking for a Lead Software Engineer to lead an incredibly talented team of Engineers while taking the reins on all things Back-End focused and driving their technical roadmap forward.
My client launched their award-winning, enterprise-scale SaaS platform under 5 years ago and it has since revolutionised its industry, being utilised by some of the biggest companies and brand names in the world. They have grown quickly and have made a significant impact in their market, now boasting millions of users.
They built the platform from scratch several years ago using no legacy code and only the best technology stack and enterprise tools within a true Microservices environment. They have significantly grown their Engineering function and are proud to have some of the most talented Software Engineers and Technologists in the UK.
They show no signs of slowing down, onboarding new customers consistently. Therefore, we're looking for more Engineers to join them and play a key role in driving the platform forward.
You will be an expert at developing Microservices, making this an ideal role for a NodeJS enthusiast who wants to lead a team of back-end engineers, steering technical direction and roadmap. You'll pride yourself on building sophisticated, highly-scalable systems and solutions, having worked within a proper Microservices environment.
You'll be a solid JavaScript enthusiast, ideally with TypeScript knowledge, and familiar with NoSQL databases (ideally MongoDB or ElasticSearch). A good understanding of AWS, including CloudFormation, is also desired. Being an advocate of Agile is essential, as they are heavily focused on Agile Delivery and Scrum, appreciating continuous integration and deployment.
You will be a true man-manager or mentor, leading by example and knowing how to get the best out of your teams. You will provide support, leadership, and oversight to your back-end team, ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standards. You will be an inspirational leader, providing tech leadership and evolving best practices within your team.
You will be responsible for the personal development of your Engineers, ensuring they have personal development plans in place to help them flourish and mature their tech skills.
Therefore, you will have a proven track record in managing, mentoring, or leading Software Engineers to success.
This is a great chance to join a firm that does things the right way. They do not compromise on quality and take it very seriously. They place a huge emphasis on delivery, so it's critical we find someone who shares and owns this mindset.

They have awesome offices in Nottingham, so being open to working on-site if needed is preferred, but it’s not a dealbreaker. They treat their staff very well and believe in giving their people a good work-life balance, with flexible working hours, early finishes on Fridays, company annual trips, and more!
