Who You Are You are a qualified Social Worker with a recognized qualification and at least three years of post-qualification experience. Registration with Social Care Wales is required. You have strong interpersonal and IT skills, including proficiency with Microsoft packages. You are adept at working independently and as part of a team, capable of planning and managing your time effectively while prioritizing case work. Your communication skills are excellent, both verbal and written, enabling you to prepare coherent reports and records promptly. An understanding of relevant legislation and person-centered planning approaches is essential. You are sensitive to the Welsh culture and competent in both English and Welsh languages. You excel in mentoring and supporting newly qualified Social Workers and demonstrate creativity and innovation in your practice. What the Job Involves The role entails delivering a high-quality social work service to adults with vulnerabilities due to physical or mental impairments, focusing on enhancing their independence. You will engage closely with citizens, their families, and carers to support their participation in planning and decision-making processes. Core responsibilities include direct service provision, safeguarding investigations, preparing and presenting reports, and developing effective partnerships with other services. You will ensure statutory assessment and review timelines are adhered to and maintain professional accountability in resource allocation. As part of your responsibilities, you'll handle complex case loads, support service development, and respond to concerns or complaints. You will also contribute to meetings, potentially chair them, and maintain effective recording and reporting practices, all while promoting anti-discriminatory practices. Participation in ongoing professional development is required, alongside compliance with corporate policies, including Health & Safety and equality of opportunity. This short-term assignment of approximately eight weeks, based in Coed Pella, Colwyn Bay, will require you to work both onsite and from home following initial training.
