We are seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to manage procurement operations. You will be required to develop purchasing strategies and to build and maintain stakeholder relationships as well as playing an essential role in supporting the Supply Chain Manager. You will be leading an existing team and will play an integral part in the ongoing growth of the department as well as managing and developing personnel within the team.
Duties
* Identify and evaluate potential new suppliers
* Building and maintaining effective supplier relationships
* Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues related to delivery, quality, or pricing
* Obtaining quotations and negotiating best prices from suppliers
* Attending meetings as required across the UK
* Sourcing and arranging tenders from new and existing suppliers
* Managing other member of the procurement team
* Provide training and guidance on best practices in procurement and supplier management.
* Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and industry regulations.
* Ensuring that priorities are worked on using the information from the MRP system
* Raising purchase orders and maintaining order progression
* Completing quotation headers for the sales team
* Logistics management and process of customs entry for imports
* Liaising between purchasing, production and the sales team to ensure regular and precise communication is maintained
* Seeking ways to improve current processes
* Occasional travel
* Adherence to all health, safety, environmental & quality policies and standards outlined by the company
Requirements
* Ability to analyse market trends, supplier data, and cost structures.
* Ability to think critically and develop long-term procurement strategies.
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills
* Ability to multitask and prioritise
* Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills needed to communicate to multiple stakeholders
* Excellent organisational and time management skills and the ability to work well with tight timescales while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
The type of person we are looking for
You will have extensive experience of working as a Buyer, preferably within a manufacturing environment. Previous experience of working in a senior or leadership role would be advantageous but is not essential.
You will have the desire to deliver the best results for the business, whilst considering the most effective was to implement change where required. You will be able to effectively build successful relationships with internal and external customers and have the ability to lead and support a team.
You will hold a Level 4 CIPS qualification as a minimum.

Pay: £40,000.00-£43,000.00 per year
