An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Service Engineering Section Leader within the IMRS (Inspection Maintenance and Repair Services) Engineering Field Services Team. IMRS forms part of the Services Delivery Business Unit within Submarines. Our busy engineering team is responsible for developing and deploying tailored solutions to support the in-service maintenance of the UK submarine fleet, as well as support to submarine design and build programmes. The Service Engineering Section Leader will be leading and managing a small team of multi skilled engineers. You will be a hands on Engineer with experience of workshop and customer site service maintenance or commissioning ideally with an understanding of MRO (Maintenance Repair and Overhaul) and maintenance planning principles dealing with large assets. This role would also suit a Submarine Operator or Cat C or Cat D Nuclear Watchkeeper with an electrical or mechanical background. Your role will require some Field Service/shift working and planned customer site based work. In this role you will be prepared to work away at site to support the engineers Site based and Workshop based Service/Maintenance/Commissioning experience Leadership/Supervisory experience Project management experience Interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage internal and external stakeholders/customers Engineering qualification or relevant experience in an Engineering discipline Shifts / Travel Although Derby based, the role will require travelling to various sites across the UK for varying durations and will normally consist of working shift patterns, usually based on 12-hour days or nights, dependent on the task. The number of days a year will vary based on workload and training. Although site work is generally pre-planned, there will be the requirement to support emergent requests to deploy at short notice. Whilst in Derby, flexible working hours are in place from 7:00am to 6:00pm, working a standard 7.4 hours per day.
