Teaching Assistant Support and Delivering
Description
We are seeking to appoint one enthusiastic and highly motivated teaching assistant to work within the Inclusion Department, complementing the professional work of teachers by giving help and support on SLCN/ChATT and developing intensive interaction methods to pre-schools, primary, and secondary schools in Carmarthenshire.
This may involve planning, preparing, and delivering learning activities for individuals/groups for blocks of sessions, monitoring pupils, and assessing, recording, and reporting on achievement, progress, and development.
The appointed teaching assistant will also coach staff within schools on the creation and running of SLCN/ChATT groups and phonological awareness intervention within their settings.
This post will be based at 3 Spillman Street; however, there will be a high level of outreach support across schools in Carmarthenshire.
The ideal candidate should have experience of working within a similar environment. They must also be highly motivated and dynamic in their approach. A very strong commitment to supporting pupils with SCLN is essential for these posts.
The successful applicant will need to be registered with the Education Workforce Council for Wales before appointment.
A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be requested for this post.
You will need to be able to communicate effectively in Welsh. Reasonable support can be provided on appointment to reach this level.
For an informal discussion, please contact Emma Griffiths at egriffiths@carmarthenshire.gov.uk.
