Position:
An opportunity has arisen for a permanent Senior Pharmacist – Adult Mental Health, Addictions and Learning Disabilities based at Woodland View, Ayrshire Central Hospital.
What you will do:
We require an enthusiastic, self-motivated and innovative Pharmacist to support the management of all adult patients with mental health disorders in primary and secondary care throughout NHS Ayrshire and Arran.
You will provide expert pharmaceutical mental health advice and will be required to contribute to the wider development and improvement of pharmaceutical services to patients with mental health disorders & learning disabilities. You will lead and provide clinical pharmacy services to identified areas within secondary care that provide mental health, addictions and/or learning disabilities support. You will work closely with primary care teams to identify and prioritise key prescribing indicators around the mental health agenda developing and participating in plans on areas identified.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:
The job holder should possess excellent communication skills and be able to demonstrate a highly specialised level of clinical pharmacy knowledge and skills in addition to experience of service development.
You will require strong leadership skills with a passion for driving forward change together with a commitment to the delivery of time critical work to support achievement of our vision. You must be able to demonstrate a high level of negotiating skills, be able to adapt quickly and it is essential that the post-holder has the ability to work well as part of a team in addition to being able to work autonomously.
You must possess a Masters of Pharmacy Degree or equivalent, and postgraduate qualification to Diploma level in Clinical Pharmacy (or demonstrable expert knowledge to that level). You should also hold a Practice Certificate in Pharmacist Independent Prescribing and be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (including evidence of CPD).

Hours: 37 hours per week (1 WTE)
You will participate in weekend and public holiday as required. In accordance with AFC terms and conditions you may be required to work over 7 days and/or an extended working day.
A driving licence/car ownership is essential for this role.
