Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Legal Cashier to join our expanding team in either our Aberdeen or Glasgow office. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the firm’s financial records in accordance with Scottish Law Society accounting rules alongside our outsourced cash room. You will work closely with our legal team to ensure smooth financial operations, including processing firm payments and staff expenses. There will be a strong focus on efficient credit control and liaising with clients on ledger queries. This is a key role in ensuring the financial integrity of our firm.
Key Responsibilities:
* Taking responsibility for the firms credit control.
* Liaising with external cash room.
* Posting financial transactions through our cash room portal, including client payments and receipts.
* Managing the office accounts in compliance with Law Society of Scotland regulations.
* Liaising with fee earners and clients regarding payments and billing.
* Preparing financial reports and assisting with month-end and year-end processes.
* Ensuring compliance with anti-money laundering (AML) regulations.
Key Qualifications:
* Proven experience as a Legal Cashier within a Scottish law firm.
* Strong knowledge of Law Society of Scotland accounting rules and compliance requirements.
* First hand experience managing a firms credit control.
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Proficiency with legal accounting software and general office IT systems.
* Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
* A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining high standards of financial management.
