Sixways Clinic is a friendly, forward thinking surgery. We are looking for an experienced healthcare assistant to work within our friendly and supportive nursing team.
The role is for 20 hours per week and this can be spread through the week; however, it is a requirement to work 4-8pm on Mondays.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will ideally have experience working within a General Practice setting. The post holder will have clinical system experience and knowledge of entering patient information onto the system. The post holder will be expected to undertake the following as part of their role:
1. NHS Health Checks
2. ECG's
3. B12, shingles, flu and pneumo vaccinations
4. Wound care (where a management plan is in place)
5. Stitch removal
6. Phlebotomy
7. Stock ordering and rotation
8. Infection control and Prevention support
The role will include set time for purely phlebotomy appointments.

Job responsibilities
Main Duties: To undertake the delivery of treatment room service in General Practice, working with the Doctors and Nursing team to bring medical services to the patients.
Responsibilities:
1. Undertake treatment room care including NHS Health Checks, Phlebotomy, Wound care, B12, shingles, flu and pneumo injections, Stitch and suture removal.
2. Management of Treatment Room: Ensure correct equipment available and kept clean to prescribed guidelines for infection control protection.
3. Maintenance of Infection Control procedures.
4. Record patients' clinical data on the computer.
5. Participate in evidence-based practice.
6. Be aware of child health and child protection issues, local policies and referral procedures.
The post holder will be required to:
1. Work in accordance with practice guidelines to assist the clinical team.
2. Maintain confidentiality and check patient identification.
3. Liaise with clinicians with any concerns.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths
* Relevant Health Care Assistant Qualification
* Level 2 Safeguarding
Experience
* Experience of working in a healthcare setting, ideally within primary care;
* Ability to record accurate clinical notes;
* Consistently confidential, compassionate and respectful approach, placing a high value on the dignity of patients, relatives, carers and colleagues;
* Experience of using SystmOne software.
