Location: Leeds, Stockton-on-Tees, Elland, York
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm (can be worked flexibly)
Salary: Competitive, dependant on experience
Bonus opportunity: Up to £2,400 per year (measurement based on company and personal performance)
Role Overview:
Reporting to the Water Hygiene Lead, the Water Hygiene Technician will be responsible for delivering all aspects of the water hygiene program. Tasks involve taking water samples, temperatures, servicing thermostatic mixing valves, cleaning and disinfecting systems and showers. The Water Hygiene Technician will ensure high standards of task completion, paperwork, and regulations are met at all times. The role will require mobile working from different sites across the North of England and may require participation in the out of hours on-call rota. A company vehicle, tablet, and phone will be provided along with any monitoring equipment required.
Key Responsibilities:
* Planned and reactive maintenance as required, responding to all allocated helpdesk requests and ensuring jobs are completed within allocated service level agreements
* Routine water hygiene monitoring
* Water sampling
* TMV maintenance including cleans, temperature checks, and replacement
* Supervision of contractors when assisting
* Health & Safety duties; ensuring that tasks are completed in a safe and legally compliant manner at all times
* Liaising with customers daily to complete tasks and gain access to areas with minimal disruption
* Supporting other areas of the business where required
* Keeping up to date with current regulations and any changes that take place
* Regularly checking paperwork and updating tasks as required
* Shower disinfection and cleans
* Assisting with tank cleans and system disinfections
Requirements

Essential:
* A satisfactory Enhanced DBS (criminal background) check
* City and Guilds accreditation relating to ACOPL8, HSG274, HTM 04-1
* A good understanding of hot and cold-water systems
* Full Driving License, valid in the UK
* A positive and professional attitude
* Computer literate
* Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a variety of tasks
* A positive approach to learning, development, and progression
* A flexible outlook towards hours worked (some out of hours working may be required)
* Working knowledge of current Health and Safety practice
Desirable:
* First aid at work trained
* A trade background or building knowledge
