Job Purpose
The successful candidate will supervise the management of resources, duty patterns and shift working and the implications for the organisation.
Key Accountabilities include but are not limited to:
1. To have or develop a good working knowledge of the structure and geography of the Force and the principles of resource management as well as relevant policies and procedures. The post holder will be expected to maintain the RMT intranet pages with relevant and up to date information for all officers and staff and to promulgate “best practise” procedures, pertaining to resource management.
2. To comply with and apply local staffing arrangements in consultation with Commanders. Enforce an agreed resources protocol and have a range of skills so as to be able to communicate verbally and in written form with police and staff with objectivity and professionalism. The post holder is expected to attend role relevant meetings as required by external management.
3. The post holder will be required to supervise the Resource Coordinators and to ensure their work is completed in line with command and force procedures.
4. The post holder will be expected to supervise and engage in the transmission of court warnings to police staff in a prescribed procedure and update the “Courtlink” facility and the CARMS profile accordingly.
5. The post holder will be required to support and assist police officers and staff on CARM Resourcing, Booking and Overtime procedures so that end-users make best use of the application and Force finances are safeguarded.
6. To be aware of all Force policies relevant to RMT role, including Equal Opportunities and Working Time Regulations.
7. To act as a tactical advisor to Senior Management and Personnel Department on internal staff movement, transfers and duty patterns.
Essential Qualifications
Educated to QCF Level 3 (2 passes), OR work experience deemed to have brought the postholder to a comparable level.
To have proven supervisory experience.
