Dexter Construction Company is a large, diversified Construction Company engaged in all major aspects of the heavy civil construction industry within the Atlantic Provinces. We are currently looking for a Class 3 Water Truck Driver to join our Bedford Operations.
Job Summary:
The Water Truck Driver will be responsible for operating water trucks to provide dust control, soil compaction, and other water-related services on construction sites. This role requires a strong focus on safety, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with the team.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Operate water truck safely and efficiently on construction sites.
2. Transport and apply water to control dust and support construction activities.
3. Ensure the truck is well-maintained, clean, and in good working condition.
4. Report any mechanical issues or safety concerns to the supervisor.
5. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
6. Follow all safety guidelines and protocols at all times.
7. Ensure safety of fellow employees.
8. Be aware of surroundings at all times.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, and Experience:
1. Previous experience in a construction environment.
2. Valid Class 3 Drivers License with the ability to drive manual.
3. May be physically demanding at times, including the requirement to hold and manage a hose for extended periods.
4. Mechanical knowledge is an asset.
5. Must be well versed in construction site protocols, rules and code of conduct.
6. Physical ability to handle the demands of the job, including lifting and moving equipment.
7. Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that projects are completed properly.
8. Willingness to work in a team environment.
9. Working safely is a condition of employment.
