Overview of the role
A highly experienced Planning Policy Officer with a strong understanding of planning legislation and processes. Skilled in developing statutory planning policies and plans, with a proven track record of collaborating with diverse partners to create local or regional policies and plans.
Responsibilities and Duties
1. Policy Development & Strategy – Lead the design, development, and implementation of policies to support organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
2. Stakeholder Engagement – Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including government bodies, industry leaders, and community groups, to shape policy direction.
3. Research & Analysis – Conduct in-depth research, analyze data, and provide evidence-based recommendations to inform decision-making.
4. Legislation & Compliance – Ensure policies align with legal frameworks, regulatory standards, and best practices within the sector.
5. Leadership & Advisory – Provide expert policy advice to senior leaders, mentor junior staff, and contribute to strategic planning initiatives.
