Workshop Supervisor Opportunity
My client, a well-established fleet maintenance company with depots across the UK is actively seeing to employ an experienced and qualified Workshop Supervisor to be based out of a depot in the West Bromwich area to work on a full time permanent basis. Working on an internal fleet of trucks (DAF & IVECO) and Trailers (Don-bur & Cartwrights)
Workshop Supervisor duties
To carry out the safe and efficient inspection, service and repair of all vehicles, trailers and ancillary equipment in line with agreed schedules and operating procedures
* Ensuring repairs are carried out to meet or exceed the minimum standards as laid down by VOSA.
* Complete MOT quality checks
* Distribute work to other technicians on the shift
* Carry out duties in a manner consistent with established safety, environmental and maintenance procedures.
* Work with VMU shift Co-ordinator / FLM and Logistics team to ensure vehicle availability in accordance with delivery schedules.
* To achieve shift KPI’s by working in an efficient and effective manner.
* To ensure that vehicles other fleet assets are maintained in accordance with company and VOSA standards.
* Assist the VMU Co-ordinator / FLM to liaise with the Transport and Logistics departments about vehicle availability.
Workshop Supervisor qualifications required
• In order to qualify for the role, the successful HGV Technician will have industry recognised qualifications (NVQ or City & Guilds) or be time served on heavies
• You must have detailed experience as an HGV Technician and be familiar with modern commercial vehicles. Previous workshop supervisory experience is essential
* Previous experienced gained in HGV fleet maintenance operations
* Good planning and organisational skills
