Health & Safety Manager (Housing)
Location: Bury Council- 6 Knowsley Place, Duke Street, Bury
Salary: £350p/d Inside IR35
Hours: 37 hours per week, 3 month rolling contract. 2-3 days in the office

We are looking for a dedicated Health & Safety Manager (Housing) to join our Housing Services team. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of residents and staff across a variety of housing locations within the Borough.
What you'll be doing:
1. Leading the development and implementation of Health & Safety (H&S) policies and procedures.
2. Overseeing other Building Safety Teams to ensure compliance with H&S regulations.
3. Raising awareness and supporting managers to understand and fulfill their H&S responsibilities.
4. Promoting a safety-first culture across the organization, working closely with site teams.
5. Assisting with audits and providing H&S guidance for Repairs, Neighbourhoods, and Investment teams.
6. Implementing and managing the Housing Services Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS).
7. Offering CDM (Construction Design and Management) support.
What we're looking for:
1. Proven experience in Health & Safety management, ideally within a housing or construction setting.
2. Strong knowledge of current H&S legislation, including HASAW, Fire Safety, and Risk Management.
3. Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and support staff at all levels.
4. Ability to work flexibly, including outside of normal working hours when required.
5. A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to driving improvements.
