Personal Tax Manager

Circa £45,000 - £55,000 (Dependent on Experience)
Accountancy Practice and Tax recruitment specialists Clark Wood are currently recruiting on behalf of a highly reputable established firm of chartered accountants who are looking to add an experienced and driven Personal Tax Manager to the team in their Royston office.
As a Personal Tax Manager you will form an integral part of the firm’s tax offering and will work closely with the Partners. You will have responsibility for overseeing the management of a diverse portfolio of clients as well as taking control of the supervision of Tax staff which will see you reviewing their work and providing support and guidance to them as necessary.
You will work with a diverse array of clients and will be responsible for ensuring that all compliance work is completed accurately and efficiently. You will have responsibility for undertaking compliance work for the more complex clients within the portfolio as well as reviewing returns prepared by other members of the team.
The successful individual will have experience in the following areas:
1. Preparing personal tax returns along with CGT calculations
2. Preparing P11d forms
3. Preparing ATED returns
4. IHT and Trusts
There will also be an element of advisory work involved in the role, with you providing guidance and tax planning services to clients.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience of working in a solely tax focused role and may be CTA Fully Qualified (or Part Qualified) or ATT Qualified. Individuals who are qualified by experience will also be considered equally.

Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Managing a portfolio of clients, acting as the main point of contact
2. Preparing and reviewing self-assessments tax returns for individuals, partnerships and trusts and estates
3. Providing guidance, training and support to junior staff
4. Liaising with HMRC and other third parties to ensure the smooth handling of our clients’ tax affairs
5. Providing ad hoc consultancy advice on a whole range of tax matters
Skills:
ATT Qualified / CTA Part or Fully Qualified / Qualified by experience
Strong Personal Tax experience within a practice environment is essential.
