This role requires strategic vision, strong negotiation, leadership skills, and cross-departmental collaboration to support organizational objectives. Leading a team of Strategic Buyers, you will ensure first-class service delivery for BMG, working closely with stakeholders in technology, production, finance, and legal to meet their needs and provide timely support, fostering a collaborative environment as a trusted business partner. You will leverage procurement data and analytics to provide valuable insights and reporting, showcasing your team’s impact. Our Team: We are a multinational procurement team, currently consisting of 27 colleagues, based mainly in Hamburg, Germany, the UK and Poland, with further colleagues still being added in 2024 and 2025. Being responsible for streamlining and optimising the procurement processes with all areas of Bauer Media Group, while at the same time generating savings across all categories. This is a hybrid position where you will work from home and our office in Peterborough. What you’ll be doing: Leading, managing, and mentoring a team of four Strategic Buyers. Implementing procurement policies, procedures, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Ensuring expert, professional service delivery within local geography. Developing and enforcing procurement processes, tools, and strategies to align with BMG objectives. Conducting RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, and present concise outcomes. Negotiating mid- to high-value contracts and favourable supplier terms Overseeing supplier onboarding, performance monitoring, and relationship management. Utilizing procurement analytics to forecast, identify risks, and drive mitigation strategies.
