We do this by delivering innovative cultural and sporting programmes and events which improve the mental, physical, and economic well-being of Glasgow.
The role
As a Glasgow Life Assistant (Pool Lifeguard) you’ll be an integral part of the team by delivering exceptional customer service to our swimmers and customers. You’ll go above and beyond to deliver the highest standards when dealing with customers and cleanliness in our venues. Reporting to the Duty Manager and working alongside an established team, you’ll be responsible for supervision of both our pools and customers.
The candidate
If you’re interested in joining us as a Glasgow Life Assistant (Pool Lifeguard) you’ll need:
* To be a competent swimmer (be able to achieve a timed 100m swim & deep dive).
* Hold an existing pool lifeguard qualification OR be able to complete the STA Pool Lifeguard qualification within 12 weeks (delivered by Glasgow Life).
* Commitment to attend regular work training to maintain your qualification.
* Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Full time roles are 35 hours per week, 5 out of 7 days. Depending on the venue, our earliest shift starts at 5.45am and latest finishes at 10.30pm (Monday to Friday) and weekends operate from 8am with closing at 8pm. Rotas typically work on a 3 rolling week rotation, so you'll know what hours you are working in advance.
We believe in the transformational power of the programmes and events we provide for the people and visitors of Glasgow. If you would like to be a part of what we do, we’d love to hear from you.
Important Dates: Closing date 19th January and interviews are provisionally scheduled for w/c 27th January.
The selection process for this role is a two-step process. The first step will be a swim test to assess your swimming ability. If you are successful in the swim test, you will move on to a competency-based interview immediately following the swim test.
