The successful candidate will provide radiotherapy treatments for urological cancers on the Isle of Wight, as well as systemic therapies for patients with metastatic prostate cancer. On the island he/she will work alongside a Medical Oncologist and supported by Specialist Registrars, prescribers and Clinical Nurse Specialists. A joint Isle of Wight/Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust MDT is held weekly. The department is in the top 10 recruiters nationally to the PACE-NODES trial and has recently started offering prostate SABR routinely to eligible patients. The department has also for many years been one of the highest recruiters to the STAMPEDE trial and is currently completing RTTQA approval for participation in the SABR arm of the trial (including spinal SABR). The lung practice will be based at Queen Alexandra Hospital and represents an expansion of this thriving team of 3 Clinical Oncologists and 4 Medical Oncologists treating patients across Portsmouth and West Sussex. The successful candidate will provide radiotherapy (including SABR) with concurrent systemic therapy, where required, but will not be required to give chemotherapy in the metastatic setting Like the urology practice, the lung team also have an active and expanding thoracic and radiotherapy research portfolio. Approximate new referrals would be approximately 80-100 per year for each practice, totalling approximately 160-200 referrals per year. A 10 PA post is based on 8 PAs DCC and 2 PAs SPA.
